I had another short story out this month. Shout-out to Gavagai – this time in the category ‘Surreal Sundays’ – for selecting my flash fiction piece ‘Life and Death of an Arborist.’
Gavagai
When a young teen is fed up with babysitting her little brother, her unrest stirs a long-suppressed power with deep-reaching roots…
I have two new short stories out this December, one with the online magazine Black Cat Weekly, the other with Gavagai – and it has been such a great way for 2025 to come to a close.
I wrote both stories while participating in one of the many NYC Midnight competitions of 2023 and 2024 – and after a few revisions they got accepted for publication this year.
Here we go:
Black Cat Weekly
Bradley Harrock can’t lose a bet–a double-edged skill that has drawn the attention of the wrong people. When he takes a job with them regardless, he’s soon faces dangers that even his lucky coin can’t flip…
When a strange tattoo artist of phenomenal skill offers free service in the seclusion of the Boisbane Federal Prison Camp’s woods, some inmates can’t resist the deal. But it soon turns out her skill doesn’t come cheap after all.
On top of these two publications, I’ve gotten an acceptance for another short story that will come out sometime in 2026 in audio format. I’m so excited!
